Our Story
A A Moore and Son Ltd is an example of a true family business. On 1st November 1985 we opened our doors for the first time. Arthur (known to all as Artie) and Jeremy had decided to relaunch the previous Burdett's Off Licence with a new vision. They wanted to incorporate quality fresh fruit and vegetables. Very quickly the shop began to earn a good reputation and they had long queues of customers.
Fast forward to 2020 and the shop has evolved with the ever changing world that we live in. We are now a florist and mini garden centre providing flowers and plants for all occasions alongside a beautiful range of cards.
After many years of early mornings and long days it was time for Jeremy to hand the reins over to Amy his eldest daughter. Amy has been working towards owning the business for quite a while and finally the right time came in January 2020.
Currently we have 2 more florists, Emma, Amy's talented younger sister, and Lucy, the latest addition to the shop. Sharon has worked for us for 23 years and although not a family member she is definitely regarded as 'one of the family'. Then we have Amy's mum Jayne, who keeps the books straight and also helps within the shop to keep us tidy!
On many occasions we also call on our fabulous extra pairs of hands, Wendy and Dave (Amy's in laws) and Dave a very good friend. They make it possible for so many deliveries to get done during busy times like Christmas, Mother's Day, Valentines Day and Weddings.
We would like to say a big 'thank you' to our amazing customers who have supported us and kept us going for the last 38 years, many of whom have shopped with us since day one...and still do!
